The Body Shop Body Butter in British Rose

Last February, The Body Shop launched one of their famous range, the British Rose which is organically grown in the farm of England, in this collection they have a body butter, body mist, body scrub, oil, soap & a perfume. Actually this range was first launched in 2016 & it was a perfect timing to launch it here in time for Valentine's Day. Of all the products included in this range, I only chose the body butter. I've been using their body butter in Olive and their body scrub in Mango for a long time (an avid fan too) so, when they released British Rose in their collection of body butter I bought one in a heartbeat without any second thoughts.

The Body Shop British Rose Body Butter

One of my favorite scent is roses so, if you are into roses this one is for you. At first, I thought this has a strong rose scent but when I smell from their one of the testers, I was surprise to smell a very light musky rose scent. Not like those rose scented grandma's but a modern musky rose scent.

The texture is light & smooth, a little different from their other body butters. The end result after you applied it on your skin, it leaves a glowy finish. It's good for normal to dry skin without ever feeling so sticky.

Net Weight : 200 ml

Overall, I love TBS body butter in British Rose. I have found another holy grail aside from my favorite Olive Body Butter & Glazed Apple Body Butter. I hope this is also included in their permanent range because I love to try the other products included in this collection like the perfume & body scrub.

How about you? Have you tried the products in the British Rose collection? Would love to hear what you think.

Loreal Gold Lipstick Swatches & Review

A while ago, Loreal Paris released in their Color Riche Range Collection in other countries the collection have 7 shades available but here, they only released 4 shades & one of them really caught my eye.

Loreal Paris Color Riche in Le Gold

The lipstick comes from Loreal's signature squared cylindrical tube but this one has a gradient shade of black & at the bottom part the shade which is good for you quickly identify during times when you are in a hurry or you don't have enough time to open the tube one by one just only to see what shade in it.

The shade is a metallic yellow gold. The first time I saw this, it kind of reminds me of a previous MAC collection "Russian Gold" which I am not surprise because Loreal Paris is owned by Estee Lauder & MAC cosmetics was bought by guess who, yup, Estee Lauder as well. So, it's no wonder if sooner or later, they would release a collection which is similar or exact type or texture in one of the other beauty brand collections like MAC Cosmetics.

From the swatches above, you can see the gold has glitters on it. This can be worn alone or on top of any lipstick shade that you want which is a plus bonus on me! Because, I love layering lipsticks at least 2 or 3 shades to have my personalized shade.

Here are the pictures where I am wearing some of my other Loreal lipsticks & some red lipsticks.

Loreal Color Riche in Barely Coral (this is included in My Top 5 Summer Lipstick POST)

Now, with some reds!

Max Factor in Ruby Red (I did a swatches & review post HERE)

Overall, I love this lipstick. It's so moisturizing & versatile. The shade is not so intimidating & I believe this can be worn by any skin tone.

Essence Lights of Orient - Highlighter Stick Swatches & Review

One of the things that I can't live without when it comes to makeup is a good highlighter. Applying it on the higher points of my face makes my dull & pale skin glowing & fresh. Luckily for me when I stopped by at the beauty counter of Essence cosmetics in one of my favorite malls one time, the sales lady said that later that evening it will be replaced be a new collection *gasp* Without any second thoughts I grabbed it & bought it which I have been eyeing for quite some time.

Essence Lights of Orient Highlighter Stick - Golden Gate to Orient

Packaging : It comes in a sleek plastic black chubby stick with a twisted bottom to get the product.

Upon seeing this first, Essence got the concept from the Arabian Nights particularly Aladdin inspired design.

Net Weight : 0.22 oz / 6.38 g

As you can see the picture above, I have twisted the chubby stick until I can't twist it anymore for you to see the quantity of the product, So, you can't a lot of product here. Just so you know.

The shade is a golden champagne-y beige with shimmer which reminds me of a golden colored like dessert.

It has a subtle finish upon swiping at least once to twice for those people who just loves an inner, natural glow but to those who wants a more deeper glow or highlight sheen, I suggest you need to swipe three or more to get that effect.

Above swatch is blended with three swipes of the Essence highlighter stick

Above, wearing the Essence Lights of Orient Highlighter Stick in Golden Gate to Orient with just two swipe of the product. I didn't wear any makeup there just the Essence highlighter.

Overall, I love this product. It is buildable whichever effects you prefer & the finish is a beautiful sheen fit for all skin tones.

So, do you have this Essence highlighter?

NOTD : My Golden Nails in time for the Holiday

Holiday season for me is my most favorite season in the whole year. This is the year when everyone is happy in spite of challenges, hardships & depressions. This is the time when everyone is smiling eventhough a complete stranger. Though it's a lot more colder still you can feel that warmth in the air.

I am also excited when beauty brands have their holiday collection & one of the brand that caught my eye is Essie nail polish. Of all the shades they released, this one really became my favorite.

Essie Getting Groovy - a gold metallic foil like shade. It has glittery gold christmas-sy shade into it that from the first I saw the swatches from other beauty blogger I fell in love with it.

The gold shade really stands out & a perfect for the holiday. I wore this on our annual christmas party where I work & I just love it so much!

Have you seen the latest Essie 2016 Holiday Collection?

Thanks for reading. 'Til next time.

Max Factor - Ruby Red Lipstick Swatches & Review

There is something I like to share with you about me that you might want to know. One of my favorite iconic celebrity is Marilyn Monroe. Her glamour & style never go out of style even today a lot of celebrities immortalized her looks, her glam & her movements in pictures. She got this beautiful aura that you may never cease to stare at her beauty. It's like "hindi siya nakasawang tingnan" (she doesn't look monotonously) if you get what I mean. When Max Factor introduces their Marilyn Monroe lipstick collection. I had to get one. Didn't you know that one of the many cosmetic brand that Marilyn loves is Max Factor? So, they know what she loves & wants in a makeup. The collection consists of 4 different shades fit for every skin tone. I only bought one but I'm planning to buy the rest of the collection. One of my Christmas wishlists.

Max Factor Marilyn Ruby Red - a blue red shade that originally Marilyn Monroe loves during her time. Aaannnd it's labeled number 1!

Packaging : Comes in rectangular tube. The color of the tube is red with the name Max Factor in one side. (Shown on the first picture) is the name of the lipstick written under or below the tube.

When you open the cap, lo & behold, the lipstick with the logo embossed on the product but this time it is housed in a black tube. The shade is comparable to the famous MAC Ruby Woo but at an affordable price with same quality.

Above is the swatch of the lipstick.

Me here wearing the lipstick.

Another me, imagining Marilyn Monroe hahaha.

The other shades are : Sunset Red, Berry Red & Cabarnet which are on my wishlists hahaha.

What about you. What lipstick from Max Factor Marilyn Monroe collection that you have?

Thank you for stopping by.

Physicians Formula Matte Collection Quads Swatches & Review

There are a lot of quads or palettes being introduced by different beauty brands but mostly the eye shadows consists in their palettes are mostly shimmers, satin or sometimes with glitters that only one or two or if you're lucky, 4 matte finish eye shadows. When Physician's Formula which is one of my favorite drugstore brand introduced not duo, not trio but 4 quads of matte shades take note matte... I was jumping for joy! And a plus is that a lot of the shades included can be comparable to some expensive eye shadow shades like MAC cosmetics. Oh, I would like also to add a bonus info - they are in the permanent line, isn't it amazing?!
Let's take a look at what I bought or actually, I bought all of it hahaha!

All of the quads are consists of creamy vanilla shades to light browns to deep taupe or grey tones.

All of the quads are packed in slim carton, the back PF describes their Matte collection.

At the top of the carton are the ingredients of the eye shadows were printed.

The eye shadows are neatly placed inside in a slim lilac grey sturdy plastic fit for traveling without the fuss & mess while the top cover has a window (a glass like) for you to see easily the shades that's also saves time.

It also includes a duo sided sponge tip applicator with a slim rectangular shaped mirror that your whole eye area can be seen for easy view when applying eye shadows on your lids without ever worrying of mistakenly applying of shadows.

The first quad is the Classic Nudes which consists of (starting from top left clockwise)
Top left - a light cool toned brown shade
Top right - a light beige shade
Bottom left - a milky white shade
Bottom right - a medium brown shade

All of the 3 shades are very pigment while the white one is powdery upon swatching

A closer look at the swatches

The next quad is the Canyon Classics which consists of (starting from top left clockwise)
Top left - a light creamy beige shade (reminds me of MAC brulee)
Top right - a creamy white shade (like MAC vanilla but this one a slight whiter)
Bottom left - a light mauve-y shade with purple undertone
Bottom right - a soft medium brown shade

Both the mauve-y shade & creamy white are powdery but the latter is more powdery so be careful of the fall outs. Better tap off the excess before applying the shadow while the mauve-y shade is more forgivable & the other two are pigmented.

A closer look of the swatches

And last quad is the Quartz Quartet (you already have an idea what are the shades) which consists of (starting from the top left clockwise)
Top left - a light purple-y cream shade
Top right - a cream vanilla beige shade
Bottom left - a slightly deep greyish brown shade
Bottom right - a deep purple brown shade

This quad is what I love the most among the 3 because only one shade is powdery while the rest is pigmented though, the  right most is a little chunky & gritty.

A closer look at the swatches

Overall, I love them though not all of them are very pigmented as what drugstore have hits and misses but still most of them are very pigmented which is very hard to find in a drugstore product. They have a complete line of neutral, matte shades plus the compact is good especially or traveling or for those always on the go. For those who wants a simple, quick yet versatile look.

Have you tried Physician's Formula matte collection? What is/are your favorites?

Mary Ann
