Sleek Lipstick in Private Booth : Swatches & Review

I never have a lipstick from Sleek Makeup that when I saw there was a sale on their lipsticks at Zalora Philippines website, I didn't pause for a minute & just click the shade that I don't have from my collection. Since their eye shadow palette & their lip liners really do give me a very excellent impression that I said to myself I've got to try their lipsticks as well.

The shade I chose from their Lip VIP Lipstick is Private Booth. I love neutral shades & MLBB (my lips but better) shades.

Sleek Makeup VIP Lipstick in Private Booth

Net Weight : 3.6 g / 0.12 oz

On their website, they have 26 shades available from the most lightest neutral shades to the darkest shades of reds. So, you have a ton of shades to choose from.

Packaging : The lipstick is encase in a plastic black square tube, at the bottom of the tube is a transparent case where you can see the shade which I like in a lipstick packaging.

SCENT : There's a slight mild rose-y vanilla scent on the lipstick.

Above is the swatch of the Private Booth on the back of my hand. It's like a neutral pinky rose shade almost like a brown neutral one. Upon applying on my skin, it's creamy but when I applied on my bare lips without any application of  lip balm or lip primer, there's a hint texture of matte-ish-ness on it where you can feel like a stopping motion or doesn't glides on easily like most of the problem in a matte lipstick I think. You need to really prepped you lips first & then, blend it with your fingers after applying it on in order to spread it evenly on your lips or use a lip brush in applying it. But I am surprise that it's very hydrating on my lips though the lines on your lips are visible. I suggest you apply a lipgloss on top to lessen the visible-ness of the lines. It lasts on my lips for 3 to 4 hours but it can be shorter because it easily transfers (example if you are drinking your cup of coffee or having a bite of your sandwich).
It says in the packaging that it's a semi-matte but for me it's actually not. It's more of a cream than a  matte but you could see shimmers too!
I compared this to one of my MAC cremesheen lipstick & honestly this one is more creamy.

OVERALL : Sleek VIP lipstick is still a must have drugstore product.

Have you tried their VIP lipstick range? What do you think?

My Top 5 Fave : Neutral Lipsticks

There are times when we feel like wearing bold lipsticks like reds, mauve or dark purples but sometimes we want to wear pinks or sometimes corals or peach. But there are times we just want a neutral shades that tones down our bold eye looks or just to compliment or complete our nude look or sometimes when we are in a hurry - neutral shades is best to match our makeup look. Of course, we have our own views or type of neutrals aaand here are my top fave neutral lipsticks.

MY TOP 5 FAVE : NEUTRAL LIPSTICKS

Neutral shades lipsticks plays a huge role in the makeup world just like the red shades. Neutral shades compliments every eye color looks or face. You can't go wrong when you apply neutral lipsticks if sometimes you don't know the color match, especially, when you try to wear bold eye looks & lips. It helps toned down your eye looks & overall look from head to toe. It also balances the shimmer or glitters that comes out from your blush, highlight or eye shadows. This also, it depends of course on the pigmentation of your natural lips, to give an oomph or MLBB (my lips but better) shade.

Rimmel Lasting Finish in Crush

My first choice (permanent) is a shimmery peachy pick nude brown. It looks so orange-y on the tube but when you apply on the lips it turns like nude-y pink brown shade.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Blushed

Ah one of my favorite drugstore brand (permanent) is a pearly nude brown. This is for me is another of those MLBB kind of thing.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Demure

Another favorite shade from Revlon's Super Lustrous Line, this is my second tube actually, a pinky nude shade in a creme finish. I love love this shade another of MLBB thing. Lightweight but moisturizing on my lips. Definitely, will re-purchase this hahaha.

MAC Lipstick in Haute Altitude

This is according to MAC a mid-tone blue pink or simply light warm pink with blue undertone. In the picture it looks so much pink but because my lips is little bit pink so, when I applied this it tends to become warm nude pink. A great for everyday wear & it's perfect for your daily / everyday makeup look & perfect for every skin tone. Sad to say this is a limited edition. But I believe MAC Angel (permanent) is a little close but differ in finish.

MAC Lipstick in Finally Free

A limited edition, a mid-tone rose-y nude shade in a cremesheen finish. I already did a swatch & review in this POST.

Swatches (from left to right) I shot this during at night & using an artificial lighting & my camera didn't do much justice on the shade. Rimmel Crush, Revlon Blushed & Demure, MAC Haute Altitude & Finally Free.

So, what are your favorite neutral shade? Love to hear them from you.

Loreal Gold Lipstick Swatches & Review

A while ago, Loreal Paris released in their Color Riche Range Collection in other countries the collection have 7 shades available but here, they only released 4 shades & one of them really caught my eye.

Loreal Paris Color Riche in Le Gold

The lipstick comes from Loreal's signature squared cylindrical tube but this one has a gradient shade of black & at the bottom part the shade which is good for you quickly identify during times when you are in a hurry or you don't have enough time to open the tube one by one just only to see what shade in it.

The shade is a metallic yellow gold. The first time I saw this, it kind of reminds me of a previous MAC collection "Russian Gold" which I am not surprise because Loreal Paris is owned by Estee Lauder & MAC cosmetics was bought by guess who, yup, Estee Lauder as well. So, it's no wonder if sooner or later, they would release a collection which is similar or exact type or texture in one of the other beauty brand collections like MAC Cosmetics.

From the swatches above, you can see the gold has glitters on it. This can be worn alone or on top of any lipstick shade that you want which is a plus bonus on me! Because, I love layering lipsticks at least 2 or 3 shades to have my personalized shade.

Here are the pictures where I am wearing some of my other Loreal lipsticks & some red lipsticks.

Loreal Color Riche in Barely Coral (this is included in My Top 5 Summer Lipstick POST)

Loreal Color Riche in Barely Coral & on top LE Gold

Loreal Color Riche in Barely Moka

Now, with some reds!

MAC in Love Goddess & on top Loreal Color Riche in LE Gold

Max Factor in Ruby Red (I did a swatches & review post HERE)

Max Factor Ruby Red & on top Loreal Color Riche in LE Gold

Overall, I love this lipstick. It's so moisturizing & versatile. The shade is not so intimidating & I believe this can be worn by any skin tone.

Have you tried Loreal's latest Gold Collection?

Thank you for stopping by.

My Top 5 Fave : Flesh Toned Lipstick

Hi, everyone! We have different lipstick shades that we want to wear everyday, depending on our mood right? I, too, admit that. There are times when I want a simple nude shade or sometimes a bold shade or sometimes just barely there or even as fleshy toned one. Or what you call a more skin toned shade.

Here are My Top 5 Fave Flesh Toned Lipstick

Revlon Liptick in Nude Attitude - I can wear this on with just a few makeup on like a concealer, powder & a clear lipgloss on top. This has a matte finish.

Next, is another Revlon from their Colorburst Lip Butter in Creme Brulee  which is the same shade as the Nude Attitude but this time more moisturizing & it's like a tinted lip balm.

MAC Salute (from the Hey, Sailor! Collection - discontinued) this one is really a very tricky shade, when I first applied this on my lips my first reaction was "Ack! I look like a dead one" because of the light shade more lighter than my skin tone but after some testing I fell in love with it.

The next one is MAC Pure Zen  (the packaging is from their Marilyn Monroe Collection but this shade includes in their permanent line). This is one more pinker than my yellow skin tone. It umps up my lips a bit whenever I don't feel like doing my makeup especially when my face is in a condition without blemishes or redness.

The last one is also from MAC - Innocence, Beware!  (see how MAC fanatic I am hahaha) this is from their Venemous Villains Collection & again, it was re-promoted after a few collections later). This is my first tube & on the time it was re-released (see how I love it from the looks of it) I bought 2 (two) of this shade - one for me (a back up) & one for my youngest sister because she fell in love with the shade too.

Swatches (from left to right) Revlon Nude Attitude, Revlon Creme Brulee, MAC Salute!, MAC Pure Zen & MAC Innocence, Beware!

What about you? What are your favorite flesh toned lipstick (s)? Love to hear it.

Mary Ann

Pili in my lip products?! - YUMMY!

Whenever I go to Bicol in my mother's hometown or any relative of mine. I always ask for a pasalubong hahaha (shameful me no?). I always ask for pili nuts one of my favorite food especially when it is coated with powdered white sugar not the brown ones. A big 160 gms bottle of it, I could see eating it in just one sitting (obviously, I am a sweet tooth person). But when someone gave me a makeup that the main ingredients came from the Pili tree! Isn't that amazing? As we all know essential oils are good for moisturizing & maintains & firms the elasticity of our skin. Pili oil is no difference from other essential oils & the good news of it is that it's locally available here in the Philippines.

PILI Products is a locally made products that the main & active ingredients are the Pili oil & Elemi oil discovered by an organic agricultural advocate Rosalina "Rose" S. Tan & with the help of a team of scientists & experts, these discovered oils were carefully extracted from the fruits & resin of the Pili tree with the help of a team of scientists & experts.

I first saw this brand from a TV show that I was watching in the bus while commuting to work. I first thought that they are talking about Pili nuts (food) but they are talking the other way around, it's about skincare & beauty products that's made from the oils coming from the Pili tree (silly me, always thinking about food hahaha). Any who, I got interested to try them but I wasn't able to get the website or the name of the store where they are selling the products because I have to got off the bus or I will miss the bus stop. So, I mentally instructed myself to search for it on the internet but that day I was so busy that I forgot all about it until a friend of ours gave me some of their products yey! Here are the products that I've got & tested it on.

What I got are a lip balm, a lipstick & a lipgloss. All of them are in perfect combination. I can wear each alone or put them altogether. Nice!

The first one is the lip balm in Blushed Pink which is encased in a usually lip balm case. A cylindrical tube with a twisted cap & by getting the product you have to twisted the bottom counter clockwise.

It's a dark pink shade in the tube but when you swatched it, it lightens so don't be scared of the shade.

The next one is the Lipstick in Bordeaux, encased in a soft tree bark like round tube which is differ from the usual lipstick case that is metal & plastic. Aaannnd a beautiful purple lips mark, how beautiful.

The shade is a deep burgundy red with a pink undertone in it that I fell in love with immediately when I saw the shade. There's a vintage-ish feel to it like Marilyn Monroe - ish.

And lastly, the Lip & Cheek tint in Latte.

Has a doe foot applicator, the shade is more of a warm reddish brown that when you blend it on your cheeks it turns into a more nude-y pink depending on your skin tone which is good!

Swatches : (left) Lipstick in Bordeaux, (center) Lip & Cheek Stain in Latte & (right) Lip Balm in Blushed Pink.

Here, I am wearing their lip balm in "Blushed Pink"

On my cheeks the lip & cheek stain in "Latte" - I just put them lightly on my cheeks

Me, wearing the lip & cheek stain in "Latte"

This is me wearing all the three lips products, lip balm then, lipstick & lipgloss on top.

Overall, all  of them have this essential pili oil scent, a very slight & mild one for those who are scent sensitive person. They are very moisturizing & pigmented too! It doesn't dry your lips nor leaves your lips a peeling problem. I love it! Not only did they do makeup products but also skincare ones like lotions, essential oils, bath soap & deodorant which I must try them soon.

Have you tried Pili Products? Love to hear what you think.

Thanks for stopping by!
