NOTD : My Late Spring Nail Polish

Spring may be long over & it’s already summer but somehow, deep inside me I still feel it’s spring season.
For me, spring means hope. All of us may have different struggles in life but let’s not forget that by the end of it all there’s hope.
In terms of color in the beauty community, whenever we hear “Spring” we eventually think of pastels. Like the NOTD that I am sharing with you today.

Zoya Leslie & Essence effect in Pixie Dust

peppermintcrinkles3

Zoya Leslie is a light lilac, pink-y shade with green & blue shimmers but it has more green shimmers to it. To tell you frankly, I'm not a fan of the purple family shades. Everything purple. What attracted me to this shade is the green shimmers (you know how I love green) & the shifting of the shades from lilac to pink, pink to lilac - sooo pretty.

Actually, since Zoya Leslie has enough shimmers to it but not too overpowering it's enough on its own but since I love holographic shades & shimmers so might as well add Essence Pixie Dust on top.
And the result? PERFECT! This will be my go-to spring shades from now on. Unless, I found another one. *wink, wink*
What's your go-to Spring nail shade? Love to hear it.

NOTD : What I wore on my nails on my Birthday!

This may be a late post but I have been MIA these past few weeks & I'll try to challenge myself *cross fingers* to upload a post at least 2 to 3 times a week to catch up with you guys. I've miss you all.

Last month was my birth month & usually when my birthday's approaching I painted my nails with green shades ( I don't know probably, for good luck I guess?) but this time I've decided to change it.

Oh, you're not mistaken on the shade. It is peach! I've been wanting to try a peach shade before but I just couldn't since that kind of shade isn't my thing & not my kind cup of tea. I don't know either what's been happening to me but lately I want to come out of my comfort zone. I also decided to cut my hair short, in am impulse, go check my instagram post & there you'll understand. Hahaha.

Al-right moving on to my polish.

The peach shade that I used is from Sally Hansen in Peach of Cake. I have this for a very long time & it was just sitting inside my container box for very long time. TBH.

A beautiful corally-peach that leans more on the orange-y side than pink & it's a creme to almost matte. After I finished painting my nails, I told myself "Meh, something's missing & on my dresser something caught my eye. I noticed a beautiful shimmering polish.

That's Essence effect nail polish in Pixie Dust!

It's a holographic shimmers of pinks & silvers that instantly puts a "pop" on my nail polish. This is actually a topper & I'm in love with it!

Overall, the result is freaking amazing on my nails!

'Til next time. Xo,

Mary Ann

NOTD : Pastel Green with Fairy Dust Shimmers on Top

Spring or Easter Day had long gone but I just can't help myself from posting what I wore during the Spring or Easter Day season. Truthfully, Easter for me means hope. Hope that God send His only Son to die on the cross to save us from sins.

Spring - the first thing that pops up in your mind is that filled with pastel colored shades & the nail polish that I'm showing is perfect for this time of the year.

NOTD : Pastel Green with Fairy Dust Shimmers on Top

My first nail polish that I applied in 3 coats is from Sonia Kashuk Fairy Princess

Sonia Kashuk Fairy Princess

Sonia Kashuk Fairy Princess is a cream pastel apple green with green & blue shimmers that it shifts it color shimmers in the light from green to blue to sometimes a hint of purple.

Then, on top I applied 2 coats of Essence Effect in Pixie Dust

Essence Lights of Orient - Highlighter Stick Swatches & Review

One of the things that I can't live without when it comes to makeup is a good highlighter. Applying it on the higher points of my face makes my dull & pale skin glowing & fresh. Luckily for me when I stopped by at the beauty counter of Essence cosmetics in one of my favorite malls one time, the sales lady said that later that evening it will be replaced be a new collection *gasp* Without any second thoughts I grabbed it & bought it which I have been eyeing for quite some time.

Essence Lights of Orient Highlighter Stick - Golden Gate to Orient

Packaging : It comes in a sleek plastic black chubby stick with a twisted bottom to get the product.

Upon seeing this first, Essence got the concept from the Arabian Nights particularly Aladdin inspired design.

Net Weight : 0.22 oz / 6.38 g

As you can see the picture above, I have twisted the chubby stick until I can't twist it anymore for you to see the quantity of the product, So, you can't a lot of product here. Just so you know.

The shade is a golden champagne-y beige with shimmer which reminds me of a golden colored like dessert.

It has a subtle finish upon swiping at least once to twice for those people who just loves an inner, natural glow but to those who wants a more deeper glow or highlight sheen, I suggest you need to swipe three or more to get that effect.

Above swatch is blended with three swipes of the Essence highlighter stick

Above, wearing the Essence Lights of Orient Highlighter Stick in Golden Gate to Orient with just two swipe of the product. I didn't wear any makeup there just the Essence highlighter.

Overall, I love this product. It is buildable whichever effects you prefer & the finish is a beautiful sheen fit for all skin tones.

So, do you have this Essence highlighter?

Essence Brit-Tea Haul + Giveaway! - CLOSED

A few months ago, Essence introduced their latest trend edition. A British inspired, you know them they have this tea time.  I have bought some of their limited edition products that I love to try & keep on my treasure trove. All of the products in this collection have a "tea" word in their names how lovely!
Here are the products that I bought.

A Green Tea for Two - a lime green creme shade. Though in some light angle it is more of a lime yellow like in this photo.

Have A Beau-Tea-Full Day - a minty green creme shade that in some angle turns a more lighter green than minty.

Pink to Go - a  baby pink creme shade which I love the most in this collection  *gasp* this shade speaks of spring & summer nail shade polish.

Then there's Tea-riffic Garden Party  which is embossed in rose petals in light white cream, light pink to summer pink. A multi-use blush compact such a lovely thing to behold because of the roses - I love roses! When tapping lightly the cream white & the light pink you can use it as a highlighter. While the darker pink as a blush or when swirled altogether it also creates another shade of pink blush.

Now as stated above. The Giveaway! I will be giving away to one (1) lucky winner the 3 nail polishes that I've featured here & the blush!

NOTD : Essence + MINI - Giveaway! - CLOSED!

A few months ago, Essence released their Brit-Tea collection which consists of pastel shades of nail polish, eye palette & blush with a matching duo-ended brush & rose earrings! I only bought a few from the collection & for the next few weeks, I will be posting them & doing a little review too with a surprise. I guess you've already guessed that out here hahaha!
This week it's time for my NOTD from one of the nail polishes that Essence released in their Brit-Tea collection.

Have A Beau-Tea-Full Day is a light minty green with small silver glitters! It's more of a blue undertone & it's a sheer shade & a little different shade from the bottle when applied on your nails but still the result is so pretty. You need at least 3 coats to be opaque & for you to see the minty pastel color of the nail polish!

The brush is okay but a little streaking on the nails probably because it's so sheer. It's a jelly like liquid polish so better apply a good base coat first & if you want the streaking to disappear apply a two coat of top coat too also, it helps the glitter to appear as well.

Now, for a MINI Giveaway! I'll be giving away 1 (one) Essence Have a Beau-Tea-Full Day nail polish to one lucky winner! Philippine residents only are eligible. This contest starts Monday - August 29 & ends by September 15, 2016. The one lucky winner will be notified through their email address provided, if she doesn't reply within 24 hours I will choose another lucky winner.

Good Luck Guys!

XoXo,

Mary Ann

My Top 3 Favorite : Foundation

With a lot of foundation both high end and drugstore being sold, you get to have a hard time choosing a right product for your face that sometimes you tend to buy a lot but end up not liking it because for many reasons : right shade for your skin tone, coverage, texture, longevity and sometimes fragrance. I've been one of those beauty enthusiasts. I have a couple of foundations in my makeup stash that some of them because it doesn't suit to my face, I end up either giving it away or using it all up!

With more trials and errors, I finally found my favorites!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum (left), Revlon Colorstay (middle) & Essence Stay All Day (right)

Packaging : It comes in a glass like bottle with a red cap. At the back it shows the description & the ingredients as well as the usage.

The shade that I have is #51 Light Vanilla which is the lightest shade available in their range.

Net Weight : 30 ml / 1 fl. oz.

The foundation comes in a pump to prevent from product spilling which is good for traveling. A plus bonus - it has a mild vanilla musky scent. The Texture is smooth and the Coverage is a light to medium coverage but buildable. I don't have a problem using this during summer days because it sits on your skin and has a semi-matte finish.

Packaging : Comes in a glass bottle (be careful not to drop it!) with a black twisted cap.
This has a wide range of shades from the lightest to the darkest. One of my favorite foundation to use if I am going to events or parties or certain important occasions. Their range have for dry skin with a dewy finish & oily skin - shown above that have a matte finish.

Net Weight : 1 fl. oz. / 30 ml.

The shade that I have is 180 Sand Beige though it's a slightly darker than me.

Opening the cap, the bottle have no stopper or a pump just an opening mouth & that's a downside for me. There will be a possibility that you might waste some of the product if you don't have control in pouring the product on the back of your hand or on your makeup palette. Also, if you're going to bring this when you travel make sure to close the cap tight to prevent from spilling on your travel bag.

The foundation have a strong funky, medicine scent but have a medium to heavy Coverage though it's also buildable. This Longevity wear of this is more that 8 hours without experiencing any patchiness or fading. It sticks on your face & a flawless finish.

My shade has a more yellow undertone & it blends well on your skin. I applied this on my face using a buffing brush.

This has an SPF 6 so you don't need to worry of a white cast because it's a photo friendly foundation. I've tried taking photos both at daytime & night time wearing this & I don't have a problem with is.

Packaging : Comes in a yellow beige plastic bottle

Net Weight : 1 fl. oz. / 30 ml.

At the back of the bottle, the description, usage & the company written.

It has a pump bottle which is safe for traveling.

It has a smooth Texture, a light to medium Coverage. The shade has a yellow under tone.

Here they are swatch side by side

A closer view of the swatches & blended.

Do you have your Top 3 Favorite Foundation? Love to know them!
