What I got from my First SampleroomPH

As a beauty & lifestyle blogger, I love to try new things whether high end or drugstore products. Whether international or local brands, I just loooove to try new things & like to share them to my readers here in my blog.

It was my first time to be part of the SampleroomPh customer & hopefully someday, be a beauty insider (one of my wish)

They have given me 100 points upon registering so I immediately use it to try things I haven't tried out yet, you just have to pay the shipping fee. When I received the package I was so excited, the product was neatly packaged & they will give you an update of the delivery on your email once you have deposited your payment of the shipping fee.

The first samples that I got was the a small size jar of pond's age miracle day cream & 5 different scents from Bambini Cologne.

These are the things I got from SampleroomPh

The first product is the Pond's Age Miracle Wrinkle Corrector Day Cream. If you have read my morning routine, you know that the moisturizer I've been using is the Olay total effects before I apply my primer & foundation.

This has an SPF 18 PA++ which I always want in a day cream. It should have an SPF in it.

Net Weight : 10g

As you can see the size of this moisturizer. It's so cute. This was also sold in stores everywhere for just Php 99.00. They have also a bigger size 50g which was priced at Php 499.00. You can also buy this online at Zalora.ph, BeautyMNL & Lazada.ph.

Pond's trademark cream color is a light baby pink - very feminine. It has this mild creamy scent to it which is been known even before.

The texture is very smooth & light which easily can be absorbed to the skin. I think it has more water base rather than a silicone one. Basically, it acts just a moisturizer. Because it's so light & it's like a gel like form that easily melts so that's why it easily absorbs by the skin, it can't act as a primer not like other moisturizers that are creamy in texture which it can act as a moisturizer & primer in one. Not that I don't like it, don't get me wrong. I also love this type of texture.

As you can see the swatch above when it's blended.

The next product that I got is from Bambini

It contains 5 pcs. of different scents in a 50 ml bottle encased in a pouch.

And look what it says on the pouch, how wonderful.

These 50 ml bottles are also sold in all nationwide stores near you.

Sunny Playtime - light orange-y powder scent that reminds me of morning sunshine. Like you just an aftermath of taking a bath. Smells fresh & new.

Ocean Kisses - smells like ocean breeze that reminds me of seaside scents where you can feel splashes of ocean waves hitting the stones as if giving you lots of kisses.

Cotton Cuddles - smells like cotton candy berry flavored scents that makes me feel like being wrapped in a soft blanket while sleeping in my bed.

Starry Lullaby - a light sweety scent that imagined myself going to a very peaceful sound evening.

And lastly,

Morning Tickles - a sweet orange, lemony scent that ticklishly wakes you up in the morning which makes you giggle.

Overall, I love the things I got from SampleroomPH. The Pond's Age Miracle helps you to achieve a youthful glow while Bambini Baby Colognes brings you back to your childhood memories.

EvoLuderm Eau Micellaire

Ever since last year when Micellar water became a hype. Lots of different brands of their micellar water version pops out from every beauty section in every mall that I went to and probably in other malls that I haven't been to as well both high end and drugstore products. On my beauty shopping at the beauty section at Landmark Trinoma, I saw this huge bottle at a very affordable price of 500 pesos. I also did a review of another micellar water brand - Simple. You can check my review HERE

But first, before I jump into my product review, I would like to tackle a little more of micellar water. What is micellar water?

It is not just water but it's made up of small, tiny gentle microscopic oil molecules called micelles that's suspended in soft water but this does not foam like those soaps and cleansers do so, you don't need water to rinse it on your face because it dissolves the bad stuffs like dirt and grime makeup but don't worry it still keep the good stuffs on your skin intact.

How Micellar Water started? Well, we can thank the French women about that. As you all know and of course, everyone knows fashion and beauty starts from France. So, who really started this A-M-A-Z-I-N-G beauty product?

The very first Micellar water, that really started it all. Bioderma H2O which was created by Jean-Noël Thorel, a pioneering pharmacist in the 70s.

Now, that you know a brief history of the Micellar Water; let's go to the main topic review shall we?

Evoluderm Eau Micellaire

There are two (2) types - one in blue cap which is for dry skin and the other is the green cap for oily combination skin which I did took.

NET WEIGHT : 500 ml / 16.9 fl. oz.

At the back of the clear bottle are the ingredients and the directions on how to use this product which obviously to apply on your face using a cotton pad.

The cap is a flip open/close one which for me, I like it better than a twisted one because it control the dispense of the product and also, it prevents spilling too much which leads to wasting a ton of the product.

I do have a very sensitive and combination oily skin, so, when I tried Evoluderm Eau Micellaire I don't have any problems with this, it doesn't give any irritation too! I don't feel any oil in it just micellar water.

Have you tried Evoluderm Eau Micellaire?

What do you think?

Love,

Mary Ann

Simple Micellar Cleansing Water

Last year, miscellar cleansing water became a rave here & even before - it was being raved in other countries that's an advantage when you are watching beauty gurus at youtube haha. I've been waiting for it to be available here in the Philippines & when Simple - a good drugstore product is readily available here I cannot contain my happiness.

Finally, it's here!

PACKAGING  : The packaging of this product (by the name of the brand itself is SIMPLE but there's an elegance overall). A semi-cylindrical shape, it's trademark is the green cap. I believe this the very first drugstore brand to have a micellar cleansing water. It's comparable to the ever expensive Bioderma H2O.

Net Weight : 6.7 Fl/ oz. / 198 ml

Shade : A clear liquid form

At the back are the step by step on how to apply this product and the ingredients as well.

Overall, I've been using this for months now and I've never experienced any irritation nor breakouts on my skin. It's gentle and soothing to my skin. There's no strong scent to it.

So, have you tried Simple Micellar Cleansing Water? If not yet, I highly recommend this product.

Peppermint Crinkles' Approval : 5/5

Thanks for stopping by :

Hugs & Kisses,

Mary Ann

4 Simple Steps to My Morning Routine

My Morning Routine

In my previous, I have shared with you my evening skincare routine which you can check it out in this Post .  My routine is just a basic one, a preparation for putting on my makeup. So, here goes.

First, I toned my face with my Eskinol toner after washing my face. This one helps me clean up what's left on my evening routine. It also refreshes & prepped my face.

Second, I applied my favorite morning moisturizer, Olay total effects with SPF 15. But during summer season, I applied my sunblock first before my moisturizer.

Third, I applied my two (2) favorite eye moisturizer. The Egyptian Magic (a review posted here) & The Skinfood Salmon Brightening Eye Cream (a review posted here).

Lastly, my Fourth step is to prepped my lips before applying my lipstick for the day.
After that, I'll apply my face primer then, my makeup for the day.

Well, that is it guys. What about you? What's your morning routine?

Xoxo,

Mary Ann

My Evening Skincare Routine

Even as a child, our parents taught us how to take care of our skin especially our face. Before we go to sleep, we have to brush our teeth, take a warm shower & wash our face.

But when we grow older, we learn how to dress ourselves, style our hair & even do makeup. Aannd, we also learned that it's a no-no to go to bed with makeup still on. So, we have our own skincare routine.

The Basic Steps in skincare is Cleansed, Tones & Moisturize.

Here are the products I used in my evening skincare that I'd like to share.

This is A Step by Step Guide in My Evening Skincare Routine

First thing I do is remove my eye makeup. I use Almay - this is a very gentle drugstore eye remover. I put two mouth-size circle of Almay's bottle side by side on a cotton pad & each circle for each of my eye. I gently pressed the cotton on my eye, wait for a few seconds & lightly wiped off my eye makeup. Then, on the other side of the cotton pad, I gently wiped off what's left of the eye makeup & also, wiped off the rest of my face.

But if I am not wearing any makeup, I skip this step.

The Second step, I applied & massage it using my Pond's Cold Cream Cleanser. This is a light cream, not too thick that really breaks down my makeup. After massaging my face with it, I use a baby wet tissue to wipe off the cream. My skin feels smooth & moisturized after I use this.

After cleansing my face, I toned my face with a toner. I use Eskinol, that is my Third step in my evening skincare routine.

The Fourth step is another toner but this time it's an antibiotic toner that help reduce oiliness in my face. As you all know & I have mentioned in my previous blog posts that I have a very oily skin ever since I started doing my makeup. And my skin became sensitive & blemish prone. This helps in controlling blemishes at bay & helps to dry quickly. I bought this from a local facial spa located near where I am currently working.

I don't usually wash my face in evening because my eyes are tired from wearing glasses & because I am scared of getting pasmado or spasm but I wash my face every morning when my eyes & face gets enough sleep & rest.

Now, the Last step is to moisturize. I have different moisturizer for my eyes, lips & face.

For my Face, I use an anti-aging night cream. Since, I am getting in my *cough, cough* late thirties. So, I need a much higher level of night cream of course. Also, one of my goal is to insert retinol in my skincare routine. I'll tackle this product in my later post.

For my Eyes, I applied 2 (two) moisturizers because the skin around my eye area are more dry & have little fine lines. The "Egyptian Magic", then, on top is the "SkinFood Salmon Brightening Eye Cream" I have posts reviews on them both. I even use them in my morning routine - a blog post will be posted soon.

The jar you see here is the one I bring at my office, I use this in my morning routine.

See how much I love this Skinfood product. I'll definitely re-purchase this.

This is the one I use in my evening routine, been using this for 3 years now or more as you can see the name & logo had been worn off. I don't worry of the expiration because the ingredients used here are all pure & natural as you will read in my post.

For my Lips, I only use one product & that is The Body Shop Vitamin E Lip Care which I have done a post too in my blog. Just click the name above to read my post.

The next two products are just occasional.

Clean & Clear per-sa gel - I use this when a red blemish is about to form. This helps my zits to ripe & dry fast. This contains 10% benzoyl peroxide which is one of the best treatment for pimples.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Facial Cleansing Polish - My fave facial scrub. I scrubbed my face twice a month because of my sensitive skin.

How about you. What is your evening skincare routine?

XoXo,

Mary Ann
