Real Teachniques' Duo Fiber Collection

Hi Beauty Gurlz, it's been a long time since I haven't blogged anything here. Sorry about that... things kind of mixed up in my life for a while but now, here I am trying to update my posts the best that I can. First of all, apologies for the things I will be posting are kind of late either so yesteryear collection or products that had been discontinued. Well, let's get started..... One of my favorite beauty gurus in the youtube world is the pixiwoo sisters especially Samantha Chapman. And when she launched her line of brushes, I immediately look for sellers here in the Philippines that sells authentic Real Techniques brushes... I love, love, love her brushes, it's living to its hype. They are true to their claims that it's multi-use whether you are using it in powder, creams or liquid products the bristles won't be damaged. Two years ago, they released a duo-fiber collection which at first was a limited edition but I was so happy that they decided to be part of their permanent line. Woohoo! This was the first edition but they changed the color of the handle when they made it into the permanent line, more bright and bolder colors. Check it out on their main website Real Techniques

The set consists of 3 brushes.

At the back is the picture of Sam - one of the creators of these brilliant brushes and who is a beauty guru on their youtube channel - Pixiwoo. It also shows a close up photo of the brushes and their names and uses.

The brushes are placed in a black colored styro foam with "Real Techniques" written on the styro.

The brushes are labeled "Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman" on one side and their names on the other side. The handles are coated in white while the end of the handle a rubber like straight cylindrical shape. The brushes are duo-fibers meaning some bristles are shorter than the other bristles. This is perfect for applying more pigmented products and for a lightweight sheer application on the face. A perfect one for cream or powdered blush, bronzer or foundation. The white bristles which is the longer ones are for application while the black bristles for buffing the product on your face. Well that said, let's take a look at the brushes included in the set shall we?

The first one is the Face Brush  for applying and blending lightweight powder or pigments it says in the packaging. Like I said, a great makeup tool for applying pigmented blush, foundation or bronzer whether liquid or powder makeup.

 A semi-round shaped bristles.
All of the bristles in these brushes are sparse but not dense.

It's pinched at the base of the bristles by the handle.

The second one is the Contour Brush  great for sculpting your face with bronzers.

The last one included in the set is the Eye Brush  for precise eyeshadow application. Also, a great tool if you want to create a sharp, cut crease.

I really love their brush range. Makes your application fast and easy.
Tell me what you think.

XOXO
Mary Ann

Real Techniques Sam's Picks

Last night, I posted a blog about Real Techniques Nic's Picks and told you that I will be posting a blog about Sam's Picks tonight. Well, here it is.

Sam's Picks composed of 6 brushes - 5 of which is from the permanent line and 1 brush exclusive which is a limited edition. Same color of the handle as on the permanent not like Nic's Picks the handle were shining silver and 3 brushes were exclusive on the set.

The packaging is different, still placed in  a styro foam with real techniques written all over the red colored board.

At the back of the box are the closer shot of the brushes which are included in the set as well as their uses. The brushes are carefully chosen for this set fit for a full face and eyes makeup application except for applying lipstick on your lips. This tells for more of a personal use, great for traveling or for your makeup kit.

Here's the closer shot at the back of the box.

Now, let's get started at the brushes that included in the set.

The brushes are all synthetic which can be use on liquid or powder or cream products. Each brushes were labeled "Real Techniques" on one side and their corresponding name on the other side. The end tip of the handle is encased with rubber to prevent from slipping and a straight cylindrical shape.

The first one is the Multi-task Brush  great for applying powder, blush or bronzer.

Next, the Buffing Brush oh my gosh, I love this brush in applying liquid and buffing foundation for an airbrush effect . It's not too dense but so soft. How I wish this would be sold separately.

The Setting Brush ideal for applying highlighter on the tops of your cheekbones or applying setting powder on the area under your eyes or parts of your face which you don't want too much shimmer.

Next one is the Pointed Foundation Brush  is says in the box that to use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage. For me, it's too small for applying foundation but small enough to applying concealer or corrector under your eyes. The pointed bristles is a perfect shape that fits in the inner corners of your eyes and along the lower lashline for blending. Such a brilliant brush! Also, great for contouring your nose.

Another one is the Fine Liner Brush  oh boy, I was glad this was included in the set. Gives a precise application of eyeliners whether on your upper or lower lashline or even tightlining. You can also use this in applying concealer on small blemishes too!

See how fine and pointed that is.

And then there's the Essential Crease Brush  the only brush that is exclusive in the set - a limited edition.

A fluffy, tapered brush perfect for applying eyeshadow on the crease of your eyelids or blending or applying a transition color. Shoutout if you want this to be in the permanent line. I do! I do! Please Sam and Nic.

Do you have this set? What do you think? Care to share?

XOXO

Real Techniques : Nic's Picks

A few months ago, one of my favorite drugstore brushes had this limited edition release. First, was Sam's Picks (which I will do a review after this) and after a few months, they released Nic's Picks. Real Techniques is a brand of synthetic brushes launched by the Chapman sisters - Sam and Nic Chapman, the Pixiwoo sisters. They are makeup artist by profession aside from making youtube videos under the channel name Pixiwoo! I love them so much, I learned a lot of makeup application tips and tricks. I was so excited when I received a package from a great seller on ebay and can't wait to open it. I bought two sets by the way hehe. And here they are.

The brushes are carefully placed on a beautiful soft foam that had this lovely decoration.

At the back of the package, on the left side you'll see the Pixiwoo sisters and on the right side you'll see the brushes that are included as well as their use.

Each brush is labeled with the "Real Techniques by Sam and Nic" on one side and the name of the brush on the other side. (And each brush label have different color by the way). The color of the handles of the brushes are different  - has the silver covering with a rubber like on the end of the handle but the shape is also different from the permanent ones. A straight cylindrical shape while from their permanent lines have a wide shape in the very end for it to stand alone.

First, the Cheek Brush  I love this brush. One of the exclusive brush included. A round tip, tapered brush and pinched at the center. A perfect size on your cheek. You can use this for applying blush and bronzer for contouring.

Next, the Duo-Fiber Face Brush  I was so glad that they included in this set a duo fiber one. You probably know this came from their Duo-Fiber brushes line. The one with a white color on their handles.  Best for applying cream products, pigments and blending application.

Next one, the Angled Shadow Brush  This is another one of the exclusive limited edition brush that is a perfect brush for applying eyeshadow on the crease and you can also use this for applying a setting powder underneath on your eye area. Or for highlight application on the tops of your cheekbones.

The Base Shadow Brush  you all know that this came from their permanent line but different color of the handle. Perfect for applying and blending eyeshadows.

And lastly, the  Eyeliner Brush   The third and last exclusive brush included in this set which if you notice a lot smaller and thinner in size compared to their brow brush from the permanent brush. A much more precise in applying gel or eyeshadow on your brows or upper and lower lashline.

Tell me if you have this set of brushes from Real Techniques.

XOXO
