Sleek Lipstick in Private Booth : Swatches & Review

I never have a lipstick from Sleek Makeup that when I saw there was a sale on their lipsticks at Zalora Philippines website, I didn't pause for a minute & just click the shade that I don't have from my collection. Since their eye shadow palette & their lip liners really do give me a very excellent impression that I said to myself I've got to try their lipsticks as well.

The shade I chose from their Lip VIP Lipstick is Private Booth. I love neutral shades & MLBB (my lips but better) shades.

Sleek Makeup VIP Lipstick in Private Booth

Net Weight : 3.6 g / 0.12 oz

On their website, they have 26 shades available from the most lightest neutral shades to the darkest shades of reds. So, you have a ton of shades to choose from.

Packaging : The lipstick is encase in a plastic black square tube, at the bottom of the tube is a transparent case where you can see the shade which I like in a lipstick packaging.

SCENT : There's a slight mild rose-y vanilla scent on the lipstick.

Above is the swatch of the Private Booth on the back of my hand. It's like a neutral pinky rose shade almost like a brown neutral one. Upon applying on my skin, it's creamy but when I applied on my bare lips without any application of  lip balm or lip primer, there's a hint texture of matte-ish-ness on it where you can feel like a stopping motion or doesn't glides on easily like most of the problem in a matte lipstick I think. You need to really prepped you lips first & then, blend it with your fingers after applying it on in order to spread it evenly on your lips or use a lip brush in applying it. But I am surprise that it's very hydrating on my lips though the lines on your lips are visible. I suggest you apply a lipgloss on top to lessen the visible-ness of the lines. It lasts on my lips for 3 to 4 hours but it can be shorter because it easily transfers (example if you are drinking your cup of coffee or having a bite of your sandwich).
It says in the packaging that it's a semi-matte but for me it's actually not. It's more of a cream than a  matte but you could see shimmers too!
I compared this to one of my MAC cremesheen lipstick & honestly this one is more creamy.

OVERALL : Sleek VIP lipstick is still a must have drugstore product.

Have you tried their VIP lipstick range? What do you think?

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer Swatches & Review

I know I am in a late wagon here but to defend myself, before I ever buy a new makeup product I just want to research for a moment & think it through because :

            A) I have already tons of bronzers in my makeup collection
            B) I don't want to waste my money in buying something that I will regret later on

aaand

         C) If ever I will buy it, when will I ever use it because - refer again to my first reason hahaha.

Last year 2017, one of the makeup trends in the runway was less is more in applying makeup, meaning let your skin breathe, no highlighter, contours & blushes just either bold eyes or bold lips. But what about those people, including myself, who've experienced some dryness or blemished skins like a bad hair day? Or like me who have a very dull skin or when you didn't have enough beauty sleep or feeling unwell & yet you want to look glow-y & fresh? Aaaannnnd THAT'S my friend is  when bronzers & blushes & highlighters comes in but then what about the trend??? If you are concious of it? It's fine if you're not but what if?!?!

In my case, I will look in my collection for makeup that not only helps me look fresh & dewy (which the look I like the most rather than matte or dramatic) but also, helps improves my skin. It's a 2 in 1 right?

That's what I found in this product. The Physician's Formula Murumuru butter bronzer. I've been eyeing this for a while ever since they've introduced this in the makeup industry & I was suddenly curious of the word Murumuru? I've never heard of this word before, it's my first time. So, I looked at the internet for it's benefits. Guess what?! This is such a wonder! It's a moisturizer to the skin! Leaves a protective layer to the skin like silicone only it doesn't clog pores. Contains Pro Vitamin A which helps restore elasticity to damaged & aging skin & makes highly suitable ingredient for use in anti-aging formulations. It's also a soothing addition intended to heal dry & cracked skin, eczema & psoriasis. Talk about retinol baby! It's not only beneficial to skin but also to hair because it nourishes hair & have moisture sealing properties & boost hair's shine like coconut oil.

Now, let's jump to the product shall we?

Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer

Packaging : It has a bulking packaging. It has palm printed design but the center of the cover is transparent where you can easily see the shade of the product which I love the most in a product packaging. A plastic case that is opened & closed in snap like. A "Butter Bronzer" printed in a handwritten like on the center.

The shade that I chose is in Light Bronzer because I want this as an all over bronzer but not a contour one. At the bottom of the package, the shade, net weight & the company is printed.

Net weight : 0.38 Oz / 11 g which is a slight heavier comparable to a MAC compact.

When you open, the product  has this wave-y design which reminds me of MAC's extra dimension skinfinish. It has this vanilla coconut scent which one of the scents that I love so much aside from citrus-y.

Underneath the product itself is another where you will find a mirror & a sponge-y applicator which for me is of no use. I prefer a fluffy brush than this, to be honest.

A mild coconut scent can be smelled upon applying it on my face & lasts for 2 to 3 hours. As you can see on my swatch, it's so light & there's some powdery form upon dabbing my brush on the pan. This shade is perfect for light / fair skin tone. It has a satin-matte finish so perfect for a fresh glow on the tops of your cheekbones or a blush for those medium skin ones. This shade is also good for those heavy handed as I am too! Haha.

So, have you tried Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer?

My Makeup Treasure-Trove : MAC Paintpot - additional Wishlist!

MAC paint pots - one of my favorite products from MAC. They have a wide variety of shades fit for any skin tone both permanent and once in a while they would have limited edition ones.

I love them so much because :
A.) I never had any problem of creasing during the entire day when I applied it on my oily lids.
And...
B.) A combination of primer and base in one. Perfect for a very quick eye makeup look whether a natural look, smokey look or grudge-y look.

I have a lot of MAC paintpots in my collection  You can check them HERE. As I have mentioned in my previous post, I have a few more shades in my wishlist and here they are.

MAC paint pot

The shades of MAC paint pot on my wish list are : From bottom left (clockwise) Groundwork, Tailor Grey & Quite Natural.

As you can see in the swatches above how opaque and pigmented they are. Tailor Grey obviously is more grey in shade, it's a cool toned one & matte . Goundwork & Quite Natural are both in the same brown family but for me Groundwork is a cool toned brown with a  hint of grey undertone & with slight of shimmer while Quite Natural is a warm dark brown & it's matte.

So, have you tried MAC paint pots? What are the shades that you have?

Colourpop Super Shock EyeShadows : Mixed Tape, Wattles & Glow Swatches & Review

Eversince the first time I've my very first colourpop eyeshadows that I bought, I was completely fell for it and I've decided to add more to my collection.

For those who haven't read my ever first blog post on my Colourpop Super Shock Eyeshadows, you can read my post HERE.

Now, for my other (3) additional single super shock eyeshadows. Again, it leans more on the neutral side (you know how I am a sucker for neutral shades - as you can well see in my previous post & my other blog posts hehe).
They are Mixed Tape, Wattles & Glow.

If you would notice the packaging is still the same, it's inside a matte, white box but the font is now different & the net weight of the eyeshadow is written below the unlike in the previous one, the word "super shock" excluding the word "shadow" is written in a script font at the top while the net weight is written below.

Net Weight : 2.1 g (0.074 oz.)  which is still the same weight.

At the sides of the box, the distribution, address, bunny & recycle logos & the website haven't change only the fonts but the phrase "Keep the Magic in Close Jar tightly after use" is added which every blogger have noticed how it easily the shadows dries out if the lid wasn't tightly closed.

The color inside the box differs from the previous which is a purple one. The name "Colourpop" on the clear lid is still the same which is written in holographic form.

Now unto the shades that I bought.

The first one the I bought is Mixed Tape which a cool toned mauve-y taupe in a pearl finish. At the first glance, it actually reminds me of MAC Satin Taupe - the ever famous eyeshadow from MAC but I think this is way cooler & more shinier than MAC.

This shade is perfect for a one shadow eye look makeup.

The next one is Wattles which is a dusty, satiny pink beige which is perfect for an all-over the lid shade or a on-the-go shade. This is the shade that Kathleen Lights been raving about in her youtube video & she was right. It is a beautiful pink shade & I just loooove it!

The last (for now) eyeshadow shade that I've bought is Glow which is a creamy vanilla shade in a semi-matte finish. In the website it says it's in a matte finish but I'm pretty sure when I swatched it there's a hint of shine in it. This was included in the "Where The Light Is" palette which a collaboration with Kathleen Lights. I was happy when this was sold separately because I really don't want to buy the whole palette and I already have the shade Cornelious in my collection. Aaand since, I am looking for a replacement of my fave holy grail under eyebrow highlight eyeshadow NYX Highlight which had been discontinued. NYX, yes, I am calling your attention. PLEASE-BRING-BACK-THAT-SHADE.

Here are the swatches of the eyeshadows sided by side starting from left : Mixed Tape, Wattles & Glow.

All of the Colourpop eyeshadows are smooth in texture & buttery. They are easily to blend & boy, pigmented too! This kind of eyeshadows can't be de-potted & a little bulky though but they have a single pressed powder ones which is up to my next post. So, be a look out for it.

Well, do have Colourpop Super Shadow Eyeshadows in your makeup collection? What are the shades?

Thanks for stopping by.

XO,

Mary Ann

My Top 5 Fave : Neutral Lipsticks

There are times when we feel like wearing bold lipsticks like reds, mauve or dark purples but sometimes we want to wear pinks or sometimes corals or peach. But there are times we just want a neutral shades that tones down our bold eye looks or just to compliment or complete our nude look or sometimes when we are in a hurry - neutral shades is best to match our makeup look. Of course, we have our own views or type of neutrals aaand here are my top fave neutral lipsticks.

MY TOP 5 FAVE : NEUTRAL LIPSTICKS

Neutral shades lipsticks plays a huge role in the makeup world just like the red shades. Neutral shades compliments every eye color looks or face. You can't go wrong when you apply neutral lipsticks if sometimes you don't know the color match, especially, when you try to wear bold eye looks & lips. It helps toned down your eye looks & overall look from head to toe. It also balances the shimmer or glitters that comes out from your blush, highlight or eye shadows. This also, it depends of course on the pigmentation of your natural lips, to give an oomph or MLBB (my lips but better) shade.

Rimmel Lasting Finish in Crush

My first choice (permanent) is a shimmery peachy pick nude brown. It looks so orange-y on the tube but when you apply on the lips it turns like nude-y pink brown shade.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Blushed

Ah one of my favorite drugstore brand (permanent) is a pearly nude brown. This is for me is another of those MLBB kind of thing.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Demure

Another favorite shade from Revlon's Super Lustrous Line, this is my second tube actually, a pinky nude shade in a creme finish. I love love this shade another of MLBB thing. Lightweight but moisturizing on my lips. Definitely, will re-purchase this hahaha.

MAC Lipstick in Haute Altitude

This is according to MAC a mid-tone blue pink or simply light warm pink with blue undertone. In the picture it looks so much pink but because my lips is little bit pink so, when I applied this it tends to become warm nude pink. A great for everyday wear & it's perfect for your daily / everyday makeup look & perfect for every skin tone. Sad to say this is a limited edition. But I believe MAC Angel (permanent) is a little close but differ in finish.

MAC Lipstick in Finally Free

A limited edition, a mid-tone rose-y nude shade in a cremesheen finish. I already did a swatch & review in this POST.

Swatches (from left to right) I shot this during at night & using an artificial lighting & my camera didn't do much justice on the shade. Rimmel Crush, Revlon Blushed & Demure, MAC Haute Altitude & Finally Free.

So, what are your favorite neutral shade? Love to hear them from you.

My Makeup Treasure-Trove : MAC Paint Pots

It's been a long time since I posted a topic in my treasure trove, this post have been ready for quite some time & haven't uploaded it yet. So, here it is. One of my favorite multi-use product are the MAC paint pots. I have included this in My Top 3 Favorite : Multi-Use Products, you can read my post HERE. As you can see, I have grown to love MAC paint pots because it not only adds oomph to my eye shadows but I can wear them without worrying of creasing or fading & it also acts as an eye primer to me even though of my oily lids.

My Makeup Treasure-Trove : MAC Paint Pots

I have a total of 7 paint pots & still I have more on my wishlists hahaha.

SOFT OCHRE - A beige shade in yellow tone & in matte finish. Perfect to neutralize dark eye lids.

PAINTERLY - A nude shade with pinkish tone & a matte finish. This is a universal shade fit for every skin tone. Also a perfect shade for an everyday simple look, this can go with just a stand alone on your lids or putting an eye shadow on top.

LET ME POP - A frosted golden peach, this was a limited edition shade & kind of have a love, hate relationship with this. This is so sheer upon application & the shade disappear, it end up just glitter on your lids & it's very sticky. I usually end up applying this on top of my eye shadow by tapping it on top.

VINTAGE SELECTION - This is an old formula, I bought this a while ago. The shade is a brownish peach & a frost finish. It has a sheer application with a little shimmer on my lids.

RUBENESQUE - One of my most favorite paint pot from my treasure-trove. It's a a golden peach in a pearl finish. It gives an added oomph for your shimmer eye shadow on the lids especially on beige, pearl or champagne shades.

ECLAIR - Oh, this is also my favorite every day use aside from the name which got my attention at first place because of its chocolate name. It can be use alone or you can put an eye shadow on top of it. A perfect for a one eye shade look & it's great for any FOTD. This is also good in balancing your makeup look, a versatile one - for day time or evening look. A light golden chocolate-y shade with a little shimmer on it & in a pearl finish. I love putting an eye shadow taupe shade on top of this like the Catrice single eye shadow in My Copperware Plate. This was released in MAC Baking Beauties Collection, a limited edition, sad to say. This is a lighter shade than MAC Quite Natural but it's a matte finish, a little similar to MAC Constructivist but a little darker & more metallic brown. It's quite similar to Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Rich Mahogany but this one was also limited edition :( Hopefully, MAC would put this in their permanent line like the Let's Skate, Vintage Selection or Dangerous Cuvee - let's cross our fingers.

NUBILE - It's a light peachy beige & in a matte finish. I think it's like an in-between with Painterly & Soft Ochre if ever they have a child hahaha. A great neutral base & a versatile too. A limited edition which is sad, released in MAC Posh Paradise Collection. I use this when I don't feel like using Painterly.

Here are the swatches of my 7 MAC paint pots, as of now.

My wishlist : Groundwork, Quite Natural & Tailor Grey (see how I am a sucker for anything neutral or taupe?)

So, have you tried MAC paint pots? Love to hear them what you think.

Xoxo,

Mary Ann
