Revlon Fairy Dust Swatches

More than a year ago, Revlon launched their own holographic nail polishes. And, I've noticed that I've been into holo polishes lately so, when Revlon have their version of holo nails introduced here, I quickly went to one of my fave beauty shop.

You know me, what immediately caught my attention is the green holo.... I swoon & if it's only a food I would definitely drool. Hahaha.

Revlon Holographic Nail Polish

Revlon Holographic Nail Polish in Fairy Dust

Fairy Dust - From the name of it. Revlon really nailed it. There's a teal holo with green and white shimmers that really makes you think of fairies. In natural light you can see the green holos but on the artificial light it shifts to teal blue. There are teals that makes you think of the sea but this one. It captures the fairy that flies around the flower bed as its fairy wings flutter, shimmers of green and white dusts drops on the flowers.

So, what do you think? Have you seen the rest of the Revlon Holographic Nail Polishes lately? Tell me what you think.

My Top 5 Fave : Neutral Lipsticks

There are times when we feel like wearing bold lipsticks like reds, mauve or dark purples but sometimes we want to wear pinks or sometimes corals or peach. But there are times we just want a neutral shades that tones down our bold eye looks or just to compliment or complete our nude look or sometimes when we are in a hurry - neutral shades is best to match our makeup look. Of course, we have our own views or type of neutrals aaand here are my top fave neutral lipsticks.

MY TOP 5 FAVE : NEUTRAL LIPSTICKS

Neutral shades lipsticks plays a huge role in the makeup world just like the red shades. Neutral shades compliments every eye color looks or face. You can't go wrong when you apply neutral lipsticks if sometimes you don't know the color match, especially, when you try to wear bold eye looks & lips. It helps toned down your eye looks & overall look from head to toe. It also balances the shimmer or glitters that comes out from your blush, highlight or eye shadows. This also, it depends of course on the pigmentation of your natural lips, to give an oomph or MLBB (my lips but better) shade.

Rimmel Lasting Finish in Crush

My first choice (permanent) is a shimmery peachy pick nude brown. It looks so orange-y on the tube but when you apply on the lips it turns like nude-y pink brown shade.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Blushed

Ah one of my favorite drugstore brand (permanent) is a pearly nude brown. This is for me is another of those MLBB kind of thing.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Demure

Another favorite shade from Revlon's Super Lustrous Line, this is my second tube actually, a pinky nude shade in a creme finish. I love love this shade another of MLBB thing. Lightweight but moisturizing on my lips. Definitely, will re-purchase this hahaha.

MAC Lipstick in Haute Altitude

This is according to MAC a mid-tone blue pink or simply light warm pink with blue undertone. In the picture it looks so much pink but because my lips is little bit pink so, when I applied this it tends to become warm nude pink. A great for everyday wear & it's perfect for your daily / everyday makeup look & perfect for every skin tone. Sad to say this is a limited edition. But I believe MAC Angel (permanent) is a little close but differ in finish.

MAC Lipstick in Finally Free

A limited edition, a mid-tone rose-y nude shade in a cremesheen finish. I already did a swatch & review in this POST.

Swatches (from left to right) I shot this during at night & using an artificial lighting & my camera didn't do much justice on the shade. Rimmel Crush, Revlon Blushed & Demure, MAC Haute Altitude & Finally Free.

So, what are your favorite neutral shade? Love to hear them from you.

My Top 5 Fave : Flesh Toned Lipstick

Hi, everyone! We have different lipstick shades that we want to wear everyday, depending on our mood right? I, too, admit that. There are times when I want a simple nude shade or sometimes a bold shade or sometimes just barely there or even as fleshy toned one. Or what you call a more skin toned shade.

Here are My Top 5 Fave Flesh Toned Lipstick

Revlon Liptick in Nude Attitude - I can wear this on with just a few makeup on like a concealer, powder & a clear lipgloss on top. This has a matte finish.

Next, is another Revlon from their Colorburst Lip Butter in Creme Brulee  which is the same shade as the Nude Attitude but this time more moisturizing & it's like a tinted lip balm.

MAC Salute (from the Hey, Sailor! Collection - discontinued) this one is really a very tricky shade, when I first applied this on my lips my first reaction was "Ack! I look like a dead one" because of the light shade more lighter than my skin tone but after some testing I fell in love with it.

The next one is MAC Pure Zen  (the packaging is from their Marilyn Monroe Collection but this shade includes in their permanent line). This is one more pinker than my yellow skin tone. It umps up my lips a bit whenever I don't feel like doing my makeup especially when my face is in a condition without blemishes or redness.

The last one is also from MAC - Innocence, Beware!  (see how MAC fanatic I am hahaha) this is from their Venemous Villains Collection & again, it was re-promoted after a few collections later). This is my first tube & on the time it was re-released (see how I love it from the looks of it) I bought 2 (two) of this shade - one for me (a back up) & one for my youngest sister because she fell in love with the shade too.

Swatches (from left to right) Revlon Nude Attitude, Revlon Creme Brulee, MAC Salute!, MAC Pure Zen & MAC Innocence, Beware!

What about you? What are your favorite flesh toned lipstick (s)? Love to hear it.

Another Top 5 Summer Lipsticks

In my previous blog post on My Top 3 Fave : Summer Lipsticks, I've told you that I do have a lot of lipsticks in my treasure trove that are perfect for summer season & that I had a hard time choosing my tops so, here are the rest of the choices that also I love to wear during summer days.

The first one came from one of the drugstore brand that I love & really never ceases to amaze me whenever they are introducing new range. This is also one of the product that I've been eyeing since they released this range.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya - a lip balm with a tinge of peachy orange shade. This is so moisturizing that I don't to apply lip balm & the shade is so perfect on my lips. It's like MLBB summer lipstick.

See the tube? That's what's left of the lipstick - you can really tell by the looks of it.

The next one is also from Revlon in their Super Lustrous Range - Siren, a bright red orange shade that gives a little oomph on my lips. I use this when I want to wear a much bolder summer look. This is so creamy when applied & glides smoothly on my lips & has a creme finish.

This looks shocking on the lipstick tube but when you applied it, oh, it compliments my warm undertone. I think this shade is perfect for every skin tone.

Next is MAC's Flamingo, a light cream peach, from MAC All About Orange Collection though this have been re-promoted a couple of time especially during summer. A light peachy shade when applied on my lips & an opaque finish.

Another one is from Loreal Barely Coral, more of a corally shade on my lips with a tinge of matte finish though it's not dry on my lips.

The next one came from MAC's Wash n' Dry Collection - Tumble Dry which MAC describes as light peachy coral. It's more of a fleshy tone shade to me when applied in my lips, I do have a love-hate relationship with this because sometimes I looked pale & dead when I applied this but sometimes it looks so natural on me during summer hence, you can see the tube :)

Here are the swatches from left to right : Revlon Juicy Papaya, Revlon Siren, MAC Flamingo, Loreal Barely Coral & MAC Tumble Dry.

What about you? Do you have other summer lipsticks? I would love to read them on the comments below.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mary Ann

My Top 3 Favorite : Foundation

With a lot of foundation both high end and drugstore being sold, you get to have a hard time choosing a right product for your face that sometimes you tend to buy a lot but end up not liking it because for many reasons : right shade for your skin tone, coverage, texture, longevity and sometimes fragrance. I've been one of those beauty enthusiasts. I have a couple of foundations in my makeup stash that some of them because it doesn't suit to my face, I end up either giving it away or using it all up!

With more trials and errors, I finally found my favorites!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum (left), Revlon Colorstay (middle) & Essence Stay All Day (right)

Packaging : It comes in a glass like bottle with a red cap. At the back it shows the description & the ingredients as well as the usage.

The shade that I have is #51 Light Vanilla which is the lightest shade available in their range.

Net Weight : 30 ml / 1 fl. oz.

The foundation comes in a pump to prevent from product spilling which is good for traveling. A plus bonus - it has a mild vanilla musky scent. The Texture is smooth and the Coverage is a light to medium coverage but buildable. I don't have a problem using this during summer days because it sits on your skin and has a semi-matte finish.

Packaging : Comes in a glass bottle (be careful not to drop it!) with a black twisted cap.
This has a wide range of shades from the lightest to the darkest. One of my favorite foundation to use if I am going to events or parties or certain important occasions. Their range have for dry skin with a dewy finish & oily skin - shown above that have a matte finish.

Net Weight : 1 fl. oz. / 30 ml.

The shade that I have is 180 Sand Beige though it's a slightly darker than me.

Opening the cap, the bottle have no stopper or a pump just an opening mouth & that's a downside for me. There will be a possibility that you might waste some of the product if you don't have control in pouring the product on the back of your hand or on your makeup palette. Also, if you're going to bring this when you travel make sure to close the cap tight to prevent from spilling on your travel bag.

The foundation have a strong funky, medicine scent but have a medium to heavy Coverage though it's also buildable. This Longevity wear of this is more that 8 hours without experiencing any patchiness or fading. It sticks on your face & a flawless finish.

My shade has a more yellow undertone & it blends well on your skin. I applied this on my face using a buffing brush.

This has an SPF 6 so you don't need to worry of a white cast because it's a photo friendly foundation. I've tried taking photos both at daytime & night time wearing this & I don't have a problem with is.

Packaging : Comes in a yellow beige plastic bottle

Net Weight : 1 fl. oz. / 30 ml.

At the back of the bottle, the description, usage & the company written.

It has a pump bottle which is safe for traveling.

It has a smooth Texture, a light to medium Coverage. The shade has a yellow under tone.

Here they are swatch side by side

A closer view of the swatches & blended.
