My Top 3 Favorite : Eye Base

Hello, everyone! It's been a while now since I've posts My Top 3 Favorite and now, continuing on. In case you want to check out my first 3 of My Top 3 Favorite : Face Primer Part 1 , Part 2 and Eye Primer. Like I've said in my previous posts of how oily my lids are that it's hard for me to let the shades of my eye shadows to pop because just for a few hours it just fades. So, aside from using an eye primer I need eye bases too. Of all the bases I've tried, I found quite a few to my liking.

Clockwise from top left - NYX eyeshadow base (a special mention), Milani shadow eyez, Maybelline color tattoo and NYX Jumbo eye pencils.

Milani Shadow Eyez  - consists of different shades from champagne, neutrals to bold and dark shades. Before it only consists of satin and shimmer shades but lately after Milani had introduced more limited edition matte shades but decided to included in their permanent line which I was so happy!

Maybelline Color Tattoo - they have two sets of range - one consists of shimmer shades and I think a year ago they introduced Leather Collection that consists mostly neutral matte shades that their take on the famous MAC paint pots. They also did release some limited editions ones which I wish they would included in their permanent line because a lot of it are more matte shades. Later this week, I'll be posting my treasure trove of color tattoos.

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil  - this have tons of different shades for every eye looks, too many that you can find shades comparable to high end brands. From white, champagne, brown to bold shades with mixture of matte and shimmer finish.

NYX Eyeshadow Base  -  this is a special mention, it only has 3 shades available (white, skintone which is shown above and pearl) sad to say it's been discontinued. I only have the white and the skintone.

There are also my other favorites eye bases, because of trying other brands which I also come to love.

Clockwise starting from the top left - Sleek Molten Metal, Mememe Dew pots, Essence stay all day, MAC paint pots and ELF duo eyeshadow cream

I'll be posting swatches and reviews on these in my next coming posts. So, do watch out for them.

Overall, I love them all. Did I mention that a lot of them are cream formulas so definitely they tend to crease if you put too much on your lids and especially to those oily eyelids folks. But with just a little of them, because it's so pigmented that it'll give your eye shadow an oomph! So, a little goes a long way.

Do you have eye base favorites? Love to know them and try them too!

Thank you for dropping by! 'Til next post.

XoXo,

Mary Ann

Milani Baked Bronzer

Hi! Everyone, here's another blog review on a product that I love. It's the Milani Baked Bronzer. This product was introduced last year (I think-correct me if I'm wrong guys thanks) when baked makeup products were in hype. The first time I saw this at their main website I was intrigued and right then and there I decided to have at least one shade.
So, I've ordered from a friend of mine, since they are not available here, unfortunately. It really sucks right?

Disclaimer : I paid for this product and I am not affiliated with this company.

The first time I saw this, it reminds me of the Urban Decay baked bronzer but the packaging of this is a little bit bulky.
The top is a clear almost glass like which is good because you can see the shade without ever opening the product. The ring like that surrounds the lid where the the name "Milani" and product name is gold colored.

Milani describes this product as : A bronzing powder that features a mélange infusion of colors baked on Italian terracota tiles. Easy to use, sensorial in texture, the nuances of color become extraordinarily luminous, enhancing the purity of the skin. This hi-tech, streak free bronzer, gives you a perfect radiant look. - *Thumbs up for this, I agree to what it says*

There are three shades available - all of them has this spray on shimmer gold veins that looked very much like the MAC msfs (I am also a sucker for MAC msfs FYI hehehe). I bought the Glow which is the lightest bronzer of the three. The other two are the "Soleil" which is the medium shade and the "Golden" which is the darkest shade. I think they are good for all skin types from the porcelain skin to darker skin but it depends on your application. I suggest you use a much fluffier brush or kabuki or a fluffly stippling brush. This is good as an all over bronzer or contour for porcelain to light skin. Same to medium skin. You can apply this alone or top it off with a light mattish pink blush on top since this has shimmer in it. For darker skin - this product's good as highlighter using the "Glow or Soleil" and as a contour using the "Golden".  This can be applied as a contour bronzer using an angle brush.

The gold veins are very shimmery but don't worry they are just sprayed on shimmers with continuous use it would be just light shimmer more matte-ish effect.  If you don't want the shimmer, you can wipe it off with a clean, damp cloth.

Beneath the product contains the mirror with a free flat brush which I don't like. It's scratchy on your face and small which is not good especially if you are in a hurry, you might probably be having the trouble of applying your bronzer.

Final thoughts :
I love the way it makes my face radiant and dewy, fresh look. From it's dome shape this would take me a long, long way before I ever use up this bronzer plus, it also costs $8.99 when you buy this at their website compared to Urban Decay's baked bronzer $26. A great alternative to high end bronzers! Try buying it online like the cherryculture.com which ships internationally but be warn, the shipping fee is kinda expensive exclusive of the customs and taxes. So, if you know someone who sells this online in a cheaper price go grab yourself one. I highly recommend this.
For those who loves dewy, radiant look - this is perfect for you but do be aware not to apply to much on your face because you would look like a disco ball or a greasy face which is not good.
But for those who wants a matte look - this is not for you.
I love wearing this bronzer eventhough I am a combination to oily skin. I guess it's just depends on how you apply it.
This is one of my favorite bronzers though, I have a couple of other brands hehehe (aha! guilty hahaha..)

Where to buy : Amazon, Ebay, milanicosmetics.com, cherryculture.com, cvs.com

Would I repurchase this ? Yes!

Peppermint Crinkles' Approval : 4.4/5

So, what are your fave bronzers? Care to share?
Till next time ;)

XOXO,

Mary Ann

Milani Secret Cover Concealer Cream

Hi! Guys, I know, I know... been MIA (way too long) but here I am, starting blogging again... and to start with is one of my favorite concealer...

Disclaimer : I paid this product and I am not affiliated with this company.

Product Name : Milani Secret Cover Concealer Cream

What it is : A creamy concealer in a small  pot perfect for concealing blemishes and dark under eye circles

Packaging/Quantity : 7.7g

Price : US $ 5.99 (milanicosmetics.com)

Where to buy : Amazon, Ebay, crushcosmetics.com, milanicosmetics.com,  ulta stores, basically almost all drusgstores malls in the US. Sad to say, not available in the Philippines though... Grrr.... it sucks right when products like these are not available here. >: /
By the way, you can buy it here...

Product Description : An oil-free, maximum coverage concealer cream that completely covers and perfects all types of skin discolorations. Instantly conceals blemishes, scars, dar under-eye circles and age spots. Waterproof.

Color/Shades : Mine is in Warm beige (though on summer days its perfect for my skin tone and a good corrector for me since it's kind of a peachy warm color but too dark when on colder seasons linke in "ber" months) Available in 8 shades.

Fragrance : A light rosy concealer smell. ( If that makes sense to you LOL )

Comparison : A lot of bloggers say it's a close comparable to MAC finish concealer but the difference is that MAC have SPF 35 while Milani don't (wish they would make one with SPFs more favorable :) )

Texture : Smooth but a little thick.

Result after I applied : A natural finish but be aware that this cream is very thick so do apply little by little. I prefer applying this concealer using my ring finger because it blends more to your skin rather than applying it with a concealer brush or any fluffy brush but that's my opinion. You can apply this whichever you prefer. :)

Would I repurchase it? Yes, definitely!

Likes

· A covers well

· A littler goes a long, long way.

· Perfect finish

· Blends well (for me using just my ring finger in a dabbing motion).

· Has a mild rosy scent.

Dislikes

· Not available here in the Philippines

· A thick cream that when you over doing it, it sinks to your lines.

· The container has a big mouth where it's perfect when you're about to hit the pan

. A few days after opening the product, it tends to dry so a tip if you are using this product do placed it upside down on your vanity table.

Peppermint Crinkles' Approval : 4.0/5
